The only recent activity was a Windows Update that had occurred a few hours before the call. I looked at all the errors in the Event Viewer but found nothing out of the ordinary. I don't ever remember that, but ok, whatever, I'll use the clients email. I go to the Microsoft page for the 0x0000003B error and click on the download link. I had him take a picture of the BSOD so I could get the error code which turned out to be 0x0000003B which has a hotfix for it. A few minutes later the BSOD returned! I asked him if he did a System Update and he said no, he downloaded Skype and he had downloaded Skype before and that is when everything started.

For one to break the other even after they are aware of the issue is ludicrous. After all, Windows and Skype are both Microsoft products. 2 hours, and it comes back with an error! I look up the error and apparently the Hotfix will not install in Safe Mode, but I cannot install it normally because the computer BSODs after logging in! I told him I would have to restore his computer, again, then install the Hotfix then install Skype.He just replied "F**k it! I'll just use my Mac!"Oh Microsoft, why do you break your own s**t? You would think that if Skype is causing an error that needs a Hotfix, it would apply it before it installs. Whatever, I down load it to mine and remote the file to his computer. At this point I am thinking this email BS is a bit of a pain.
